What is Erectile Dysfunction?

However irrespective of whether coffee can help individuals who never drink coffee, it has various other health benefits. These benefits may have some kind of a link to solving the causes or symptoms of erectile dysfunction.

Research is trying to get better every day but scientists have not been able to say for sure if non-coffee drinkers should start drinking to protect themselves from erectile dysfunction. A test was conducted in the form of a questionnaire which was given to 3700 men. In which they had to fill out their everyday diet. They also had to specify if they have erectile dysfunction or not. The tests had found out that caffeine intake was indeed associated with a reduced likelihood of erectile dysfunction.
The team of researchers then ran the data through various analysis algorithms and cross-checked the results of the sample results with each other. It was found that individuals who drank 85-70 mg of coffee per day were 42% less likely to have dealt with erectile dysfunction.
The next category in the sample audience were men who drank 171 to 303 mg of caffeine in a day. These men were 39 per cent less likely to have dealt with this disorder. The aforementioned two amounts are the most common consumption patterns in today’s busy lifestyle.
The reason why this was groundbreaking was because the two previous studies based on the same premise did not test positively. Those researchers were not able to find a possible link between coffee and erectile dysfunction. This was mainly because the previous studies had a much smaller group size.
The study also used a registered dietary recall period, which is a method that has been developed and validated by the US Department of Agriculture to report population-based estimates of daily caffeine intake.
However, the authors of this study tell us that this isn’t perfect. The reason why they say that is similar to why doctors aren’t sure about suggesting their patients start drinking coffee rather than having a sildenafil tablet to help with the erectile dysfunction; the causes of the disorder can vary.
Multiple risk factors of erectile dysfunction have not been addressed, the main cause being cardiovascular diseases. Surveys have also been identified as having an inherent bias.
