Easy Remedies For Dull Skin

Dull skin is a common problem that many women face. For people with dull skin, their face loses its glow and looks dry and patchy.

To combat dull skin you need to take good nourishing care of your skin regularly. Here are some tips you can follow to get rid of dull skin and make way for healthy glowing skin.

Cleansing and exfoliation

Wash your face every morning and night. This is an important step in your skin care routine and must not be skipped. Cleansing your face every night will help get rid of dirt from pollution on your face. Air pollution will contribute to the dullness of the skin and dust can clog up the pores and lead to acne. Cleansing your face every night before going to bed will help combat these problems.

The skin sheds millions of cells every day and these dead skin cells can form a layer on the surface of the skin. This makes the skin look dull, dry and patchy. To remove these dead cells you need to regularly exfoliate the skin at least twice in a week. Exfoliating will help in making the skin look more healthy and glowing. You can use walnut or apricot scrubs for this. You can also make your own natural DIY face scrub like a sugar scrub at home.

Moisturizing the skin is an extremely important part of all skincare routines. The skin needs to be hydrated and moisturized throughout the day to maintain a healthy look. Using makeup products that contain some chemicals that are harmful to the skin can lead to an imperfect texture of the skin. This makes the skin look imperfect, containing some cracks in the skin.

Using moisturizer will help repair the imperfect skin and gives back a healthy, nourishing and glowing look. It will help make the skin even in texture and so it will not look dull and patchy any more.

Stay hydrated and relaxed

Hydration is especially beneficial as lack of hydration can reduce the amount of blood flow to the skin. This makes the skin look pale and dull. For the skin cells to be healthy, the body needs to be hydrated all day long. Dehydration can cause the skin to look dry and scaly which is not good at all. Water deficiency can also damage the dermal layer of the skin which can cause wrinkles.

It is therefore recommended to drink plenty of water and keep your body hydrated every day.

Stress is also a factor in causing dull, flaky skin and dark eye circles. Stress can cause sleep disturbances and this lack of sleep contributes to skin damage. Getting proper rest during the night is important for maintaining healthy glowing skin. Relax your mind and body before going to bed to get that much-needed beauty sleep. Exercising daily can help relieve stress.

Lemon and honey

Lemon is an excellent remedy for dull skin.  Lemon contains citric acid which helps to exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells leading to glowing skin. Lemon also helps to unclog pores, prevent breakouts and lighten skin.  Vitamin C in lemon helps in fighting impurities in skin and boosting cell growth which makes the skin look healthy.

Yogurt and aloe vera

Aloe vera helps to rejuvenate and hydrate dull skin and it is a popular remedy for skin care. It has soothing, moisturizing, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties which make the skin healthy and glowing. Aloe vera is a good cleanser for the skin and it contains some compounds which remove dead skin cells and brighten the complexion.

You can apply aloe vera directly on the face. Leave it on for a few minutes before washing it off properly.

Yogurt is also a skincare staple and it has many beneficial effects on the skin. Yogurt contains vitamin B2 which helps keep the skin hydrated and also has antioxidant properties. Vitamin B2 also helps boost cell regeneration to heal dry skin and get rid of dullness. Yogurt also helps to exfoliate the skin and removes dead skin cells and hence giving healthy skin.

You can apply a little amount of yogurt on the face and massage gently for few minutes. Then rinse it off properly with lukewarm water.
