Medical Uses of Careprost

1. Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye disorders which include optic disc cupping and visual field loss. It is estimated that millions of people are affected by glaucoma and it is one of the leading cause of blindness across the world. It is a serious disorder that requires immediate treatment. Careprost is considered to be a potent medication for the treatment of glaucoma and a large number of doctors recommend this medicine. It works by decreasing the pressure in the eyeball by increasing the expulsion of aqueous humour.

2. Ocular hypertension

Ocular hypertension is an eye disorder which occurs when the intraocular pressure (IOP) in the eye becomes higher than normal. It occurs in the absence of glaucomatous damage. Although ocular hypertension is not glaucoma, it increases the risk of developing glaucoma. The intraocular pressure is dependent on the production and drainage of the aqueous humour (watery fluid). Normally, there is a balance between the production and drainage of aqueous humour. But in patients having ocular damage, the drainage is restricted and the pressure in the eyes increases.

Careprost works effectively in treating ocular hypertension and it works by decreasing the intraocular pressure or pressure inside the eye. Careprost helps in maintaining the balance between the production and drainage of aqueous humour.

3. Hypotrichosis

Hypotrichosis is a condition in which an individual doesn’t have enough hair on the head and the body. Hypotrichosis of the eyes means when the individual doesn’t have enough hair on eyelashes.

Careprost is an effective solution to this problem. Careprost is widely used to make the eyelashes longer, thicker, and darker. If careprost is used as recommended, it can result in an increase in the length of eyelashes, an increase in the thickness and fullness, and an increase in the darkness of the eyelashes.
